Lime Rock 2010. All info here

Lime Rock - May 31, 2010

Postby foldsct » March 9th, 2010, 10:56 pm

Well it is now official!!

This year's ticket price is $55........yes, this is a slight increase over last year's ticket, and is due to the fact that Lime Rock tickets went up this year. The racing on that day will include Daytona Prototypes, so the entry fee into the park will be higher. Your ticket for $55 will include your entry to the park, a catered lunch and we will be back in the tent in the same location as last year!!

Now, we will be limited to 50 cars for the parade laps, so here is how we are going to do it. Every 2 tickets will entitle you to 1 car in the parade lap. So, if you buy 2 tickets, you will be allowed to have 1 car in the parade, 4 tickets will get you 2 cars, etc, etc. There will be a card included in your ticket package that you will have to show in order to be in the parade lap--so, as I mentioned before, it is definitely first come, first serve!

Also, on that note, if you have card #1, that does not mean that you will be the first car in the line--it just means that you are 1 of 50 cars in the parade laps. We do not have the time to line up the cars numerically, so the order of the card that you receive is not relevant--what is, is that you HAVE a card.

We have 125 tickets to sell or a deadline of May 15th---whichever comes first. Once one of those 2 goals have been achieved, there will be no more tickets sold. THERE WILL BE NO EXCEPTIONS TO THIS.

Checks and ticket orders can be sent to:

Nutmeg Miata Club
Lime Rock Event
110 Wadhams Road
Bloomfield, CT 06002

If anyone has ANY questions, please do not hesitate to ask! This promises to be a great day, and we hope to see everyone there!! Oh yeah--we're gonna need volunteers to, so if you want to volunteer, please let me know! That would be great.............

Is it open to anyone - even Canadians?
Is there anything else that takes place during the event, and how long does the day typically last?
What do you need volunteers for?
RSVP on the website (when listed), or is your RSVP your purchase of your ticket(s)?
How much fun of an event is it?
Can you guarantee it will not rain?

Hey Elle, we will send ours out this week - thanks for the update.

(Hope to actually be able to make an event before then...feel like we haven't been around forever and missed the meeting again tonight due to work......)

Yes..even Canadians..last year there were 10 cars that came down from the Great White North...they even showed up on Sunday for a Joe Wall and company picnic...then were led to their hotel in Torrington by my son Christopher...and he took the 'scenic route'... :driving:

Anything else meaning..??? There is a FULL day of racing..the DP/GT cars will practice..qualify and race on Monday.

Volunteers needed for several areas...check in..parking..general help..whatever Scott and Elle need help with

Your check for the ticket order is the RSVP...

Silly question...

No.. :roflmao:

This will be my 31st consecutive Memorial Day weekend at LRP...wouldn't even think of missing this. So that means that if someone is interested in coming up on Saturday..or Sunday for a look see...please let me know. I will be there from Thursday afternoon until Monday evening... I am sure that something fun can be arranged...with no racing on Sunday, there is time to check out the lay of the Park and go for a nice little drive...I know a few places... :whistel:

From the Lime Rock webpage...

For the first time ever, Grand-Am’s exciting Rolex Daytona Prototypes come to Lime Rock! The traditional Memorial Day season-opener will showcase the DPs and GTs in a combined-class race on Monday. On Saturday, the BMWs, Fords, Chevys, Hondas and Porsches in the Continental Tire Challenge will trade paint, along with the fantastically competitive Ford Racing Mustang Challenge series, the equally close Cooper Tires Presents the Atlantic Championship Powered by Mazda and the BFG/Skip Barber National Presented by Mazda.

The daily schedule has not been published yet...as soon as it is available, i will post it.

I'm in. I saw a post over at miata.net in which paypal was mentioned... are you folks accepting it? I don't mind paying a little more if the paypal fees are a concern (as I definitely want to be in the parade lap).

Thanks!

I have not decided which day I'm going up yet. Maybe we can get a head count and where everybody is staying.

Staying?...inside the track..all weekend. John and Elle will drive back and forth ...right?

The drive to LRP is not that bad from just about anywhere in CT...and with literally NO hotels within about 30 minute drive of the track...and those are probably booked anyway...

Torrington is about the closest in CT...and Great Barrington in MA...

Sunday is sorta a freebie...no racing..no car show...and last year there was no charge for the Canadians to come in and have a late lunch before being led off to their hotel in torrington...and Christopher took them the 'scenic' route..

I'll be camped in my usual spot...right under the first pair of pine trees past the infield restroom building :welcomesign: ...

if there is any question as to our campsite..look for at least 4 Miatas just past the restroom building... :nana: :nana:

and a pretty big group...at least 20+ people... :dancingparty:

We've got about 50 tickets sold with another 5 weeks to go..........

I'd really like to make our goal of 125 tickets sold. I have to admit, there are not a lot of club members going!

Does anyone plan on attending? If so, please don't wait too long to get your tickets ordered..........

Thanks!!
